BHARATIYA NAGARIK SURAKSHA SANHITA BILL,2023 (BNSSB)

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Bill (BNSSB), 2023 was introduced with the primary objective of repealing the existing Criminal Code of Procedure, 1973 (CrPC). The newly proposed Bill contains 533 sections, with 9 new additions. Additionally, the Bill has modified 160 sections and repealed 9 sections. While preserving numerous essential aspects of the CrPC, the legislation also introduces several new provisions aimed at improving the efficiency of investigation and trial, and expediting the delivery of justice.
