A critical point of discussion was India’s Union of States model. Despite the federal structure, centralised control over key resources and policy levers often hampers the capacity of states to independently pursue development.
From Quantitative to Qualitative Growth
The sessions also explored the distinction between quantitative and qualitative growth urging policymakers to move beyond GDP figures and consider more holistic indicators that capture well-being, sustainability, and equity.
