Future of Employability in the Age of AI, held on 16 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, a Main summit event at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, examined how artificial intelligence is transforming labour markets, workforce skills, and the future of work. As AI systems increasingly integrate into sectors ranging from finance and manufacturing to education and public administration, the conversation focused on the implications of automation, the emergence of new job categories, and the urgent need for large-scale reskilling and lifelong learning.
The event brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and media voices to discuss how India can prepare its workforce for rapid technological change. Discussions explored the evolving relationship between human and machine intelligence, the importance of strengthening foundational and digital skills, and the need to align education systems, industry training programmes, and public policy with the changing demands of the AI-driven economy. Participants emphasised that while AI may transform the nature of jobs, it also presents opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and productivity growth if supported by forward-looking policy and institutional preparedness.

Speakers including Dr V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, Shri Sanjeev Bhikchandani (Founder and Executive Vice-Chairman of Info Edge), Shri Sateesh Seetharamiah (CEO of Edge Platforms and Member of the Board at EdgeVerve) and Shri Vineet Nayar (Founder of Sampark Foundation and Former CEO of HCL Technologies) highlighted the importance of developing adaptive skill ecosystems that prioritise creativity, analytical thinking, and technological literacy. Contributions from Prof. Anurag Mairal (Stanford University), Smt Smita Prakash (Editor, Asia News International), Shri Shashi Shekhar Vempati (Former CEO, Prasar Bharati), and Shri Alok Aggarwal (Co-Founder, AI4India) further emphasised the need for closer collaboration between government, academia, and industry to support workforce transition and ensure that AI-driven growth remains inclusive and sustainable.
