AI for Education: Future-Ready Universities and Schools, held on 16 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, a Main Summit event at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, examined how artificial intelligence is being integrated across school and higher education systems and the policy frameworks required to make institutions future-ready. As digital technologies increasingly shape learning environments, the discussion focused on how AI can support improved learning outcomes, institutional efficiency, and inclusive access to education.
The session brought together senior policymakers, administrators, education leaders, and global practitioners to deliberate on the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into classrooms and universities. Discussions explored government-led adoption efforts, the evolving role of teachers in AI-enabled learning environments, and the importance of equipping both students and educators with foundational AI literacy. Participants also highlighted the need to move from pilot initiatives to institution-wide implementation that is supported by capacity building, infrastructure, and responsible governance frameworks.

The dialogue featured contributions from Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry, Government of India; Dr. Ramanand, Director, CPRG; Dr. R. Balasubramaniam, Member (HR), Capacity Building Commission; and Ms Noopur Jhunjhunwala, Founder and Trustee, ChangeInkk. Moderated by Mr Chetan Aggarwal, Public Policy Consultant and Visiting Fellow at CPRG, the discussion emphasised that while AI offers significant potential to transform teaching and learning, its long-term impact will depend on how effectively institutions prepare educators, strengthen governance structures, and ensure that technological adoption remains inclusive, ethical, and aligned with the broader goals of India’s education system.
